Quickie Croissants

Formerly known as Muffin’s Quickie Croissants, now known as Martha’s

Preheat oven to 325ยบ

Ingredients:

  • Soften 1 envelope yeast in 1 cup warm water
  • Add: 3/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour

Recipe:

  1. Pulse 4 cups flour with 2 sticks unsalted butter cut into TB bits until the butter is the size of beans. Place in large bowl.
  2. Pour wet over dry, folding gently until the flour is moistened.
  3. Cover and refrigerate 2 hrs to 4 days
  4. Divide dough into 4 equal pieces.
  5. Roll each piece into a 16 inch circle. Cut into 8 wedges and roll up
  6. Place on greased baking sheets and let rise 2 to 4 hours
  7. Beat 1 egg with 1TB water and lightly brush the risen croissants.
  8. Bake 35 minutes until golden
