Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients:

6 servings

  • 9 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 6 large baking potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 1 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • 4 TB unsalted butter
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • S&P

Recipe:

  1. Place potatoes and garlic in a large saucepan. Cover with water, add 1/4 tsp. salt and bring to the boil. Lower heat and simmer for 15 or 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender when pierced with a knife. Drain, return potatoes and garlic to pan and heat briefly over low heat, shaking pan until all moisture is gone.
  2. In microwave heat milk and butter until butter melts.
  3. Put potatoes and garlic through a potato ricer or mash with potato masher until smooth. Add milk and butter mixture gradually, stirring until smooth. Season with remaining salt and pepper to taste.
