Asparagus Hors D’oeuvre

This dish is one of my favorites.  It is perfect for this and that and goes well with so on and so forth.

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb asparagus
  • 3 TB soy sauce
  • 2 TB real maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup sesame oil

 Recipe:

  1. Trim tough ends from asparagus and cut into 1 1/2 in long pieces
  2. Add to boiling water and cook 2 minutes until crisp-tender
  3. Drain and plunge immediately into ice water to cool and set color
  4. Drain when cool
  5. Marinate for 2 to 4 hours in soy, syrup and sesame oil
  6. Serve with toothpicks
